Team Red Wins First Match of the Season
“The girls had a great start to their season with two wins this week!” said Coach Leanne DeCraene of her team’s debut performances. Tuesday, Team Red hosted Brentwood at Memorial Park Gym where the Roadrunners worked through a sophisticated rotation. Several girls had great serving runs, including Zahara Reed and Anastasia Shima-Hernandez. Many players powered over some huge overhead bombs while still others delivered some staggering running-jump-serve missiles that had the Eagles scrambling. Maya Slutske did a terrific job setting and helping to motivate the team while Kate Friedman exhibited tremendous hustle as she made some excellent touches and saves.
