Alumna Named “Athlete of the Year” by Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference

Former Crossroads athlete Madison Quan ’18 was named Athlete of the Year by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) following her outstanding athletic performance for the Pitzer-Pomona women’s basketball team this season. 

Madison graduated from Crossroads as a multisport athlete, playing basketball, volleyball and golf during her time at the School. Some of Madison’s many high school athletics achievements include receiving basketball First Team All-League Honors for three consecutive seasons, during which she also served as varsity captain. In volleyball, Madison was named to the Gold Coast League’s First Team in 2017, during which she also served as varsity captain and was named Team MVP. She also contributed to the volleyball team’s 2016 Regional and Division 6 Championships. 

At Pitzer College, Madison, who double-majored in Organizational Studies and Environmental Analysis, played on the women’s basketball team until her undergraduate season was cut short by the pandemic. Luckily, Madison was able to finish out her collegiate basketball career as a graduate student—she currently attends Claremont Graduate University where she is pursuing a master's in Business Administration and Management. 

Highlights from her time with the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens include finishing the season sixth in all-time points (1,313), fifth in career assists (359) and third in career steals (285). Madison is currently the all-time leader in three pointers (164) for the Sagehens.
